Elgin Area School District U-46 families have an especially long spring break in 2027! Spring Recess runs March 29–April 2, followed by a Spring Holiday on Monday, April 5, and an Election Day/Institute Day on Tuesday, April 6, giving students 11 consecutive days off from Saturday, March 27 through Tuesday, April 6. Spring break can be a busy time at Disney, so it's worth planning ahead to make those vacation days count.

Emergency days. In the district's words, June 9, 2027 is the "Last Day for students if no emergency days are used" and June 16 is the "Last Day for Students if 5 emergency days are used." June 10–16 have a dashed outline: they're summer days unless the district uses emergency days. High school early release days are marked with a dot; U-46 lists 2027–28 high school early release days as TBD.
