The suitcases are finally packed. You’ve checked the house one more time, loaded the dishwasher, arranged for the dog, found everybody’s chargers, and somehow gotten the entire family and all of the luggage to the airport.
Now you can finally think about Disney.
You settle into a seat at the gate and decide the flight to Orlando will be the perfect time to figure out Lightning Lane.
Then you start reading.
You open the My Disney Experience app. You Google a question. That answer leads to another question. Pretty soon you have multiple tabs open and you’re trying to understand Multi Pass, Single Pass, Premier Pass, attraction priorities, return times and what happens after you use those first selections.
This was supposed to be the easy part.
And suddenly you’re wondering whether you’re about to spend the Walt Disney World vacation you’ve saved and planned for with your face buried in your phone.
If that’s where you are, you haven’t missed your chance to ask for help.
This Has Actually Happened
The airport scenario isn’t something I invented for a blog post.
A Disney traveler really did make it all the way to the airport before realizing Lightning Lane was more complicated than expected. They searched online and found the VIP Lightning Lane Management experience package.
And they booked it.
I love that story because it captures something I see all the time with Disney planning. You don’t always know which piece of the vacation is going to feel complicated until you actually get to it.
You may have had no trouble choosing your resort. You bought the tickets, decided which parks to visit and probably have a pretty good idea of what everybody wants to ride.
Then you get to Lightning Lane and realize this is the part you really don’t want to manage yourself.
That doesn’t mean you planned badly.
It just means you found the place where having someone else carry some of the planning load would make the vacation better.
Lightning Lane Is One of the Few Parts of Disney Planning That Comes Into the Parks With You
Most of your vacation planning happens before you leave home.
You choose the resort. You buy tickets. You make dining reservations. You pack the suitcases.
Lightning Lane keeps asking you to make decisions while you’re actually trying to enjoy the vacation.
Your family might be standing in Magic Kingdom ready to go when one person wants Space Mountain, someone else wants Pirates of the Caribbean, your youngest is hungry, and you have a lunch reservation coming up.
Meanwhile, Lightning Lane availability and return times continue to change.
Somebody has to decide what makes sense next. And usually that somebody is the same person who has already spent months carrying the mental load for the trip.
While everybody else is looking around at Disney, you’re looking down at your phone. That’s the part I want to change.
You Can Be Great at Disney Planning and Still Want Help With Lightning Lane
You can genuinely enjoy planning your own Walt Disney World vacation and still decide that Lightning Lane is the piece you’d rather hand off.
You may have loved comparing resorts, watching attraction videos with your kids and deciding where everyone wants to eat. You may already understand the parks and feel comfortable with almost every other part of the trip.
Lightning Lane is simply different because the strategy doesn’t end when you arrive.
The choices you make before the trip matter, but so do the choices that come after you begin using those selections.
That isn’t new territory in my planning work. Lightning Lane strategy is already part of the way I help my Walt Disney World clients, and my Platinum Planning service includes securing eligible initial Lightning Lane selections.
VIP Lightning Lane Management simply carries that strategy into the park days themselves.
What Does VIP Lightning Lane Management Actually Do?
VIP Lightning Lane Management is my hands-on, behind-the-scenes service for families who want help making Lightning Lane work with the rest of their Walt Disney World vacation.
We start with your family rather than a generic touring plan.
I want to know what everybody really wants to ride, what you’re happy to skip, who is traveling, what dining reservations are already on your schedule and how your family likes to move through the parks.
A family spending one day in Magic Kingdom has a very different strategy from a family with several park days. A family traveling with small children has different priorities from a group of teenagers looking for every thrill ride they can find.
The goal isn’t to squeeze the largest possible number of attractions into a day.
The goal is to use the time you have well enough that your family gets to experience the things that matter most without making the person holding the phone responsible for managing everybody else’s vacation.
With VIP Lightning Lane Management, I help with your ride strategy, Lightning Lane planning and selections, park-day flow, attraction priorities, timing, park geography and how those choices fit around the plans you already have.
When availability changes or the day shifts, I’m helping behind the scenes with the strategy.
A Disney Park Day Is Long — and Surprisingly Short
If you’ve spent a full day at Walt Disney World, you know exactly what I mean.
A park day can feel very long on your feet and surprisingly short when you look at how much your family hopes to experience.
Yes, there may be many hours between rope drop and park closing, but those hours also contain transportation, meals, bathroom breaks, characters, shows, snacks, shopping, tired kids, tired adults and the unexpected things that happen during any real family vacation.
Time you lose early in the day doesn’t magically come back at night.
That’s one reason I take Lightning Lane strategy seriously. You’ve already invested thousands of dollars and precious vacation time getting your family to Walt Disney World. It makes sense to think carefully about how you want to use the hours you have once you’re there.
That doesn’t mean every family needs every Lightning Lane product every day.
It means the decision deserves more thought than a simple yes-or-no box.
If You’re Leaving Tomorrow, Ask
If you’re sitting at the airport right now, riding in the passenger seat on I-95, or staring at your suitcase the night before your flight and realizing you need Disney Lightning Lane help, you can still request VIP availability.
Because I personally manage this service, I limit the number of families I can support when park dates overlap. I can’t promise I’ll have availability at the last minute.
But you can ask.

If Your Trip Is Two Weeks Away, You Have Time to Build a Better Plan
Two weeks is not “too late” in Disney planning.
There’s time to look at your park days, attraction priorities, dining reservations and the way your family actually wants the vacation to feel.
Instead of arriving and figuring everything out while you’re standing inside the park, we can think through the strategy before you go.
And if you’re two months away, even better. We have more room to look at the bigger picture and make sure the park days, dining and Lightning Lane strategy make sense together.
Sometimes someone starts by asking me a Lightning Lane question and then realizes the real issue is the order of the park days, a dining reservation that doesn’t fit particularly well, or another piece of the vacation that could work better.
That’s the advantage of working with someone who plans Walt Disney World vacations rather than looking at Lightning Lane as an isolated app function.
Heading to Walt Disney World for Jersey Week?
If you’re a New Jersey family traveling during Jersey Week, there’s a good chance getting everyone out the door has already been a production.
Maybe you’re sitting at Trenton-Mercer Airport or Philadelphia International Airport right now. The bags are packed, work schedules have been rearranged, school is handled, pet care is covered and everybody is finally where they’re supposed to be.
Then, for the first time in weeks, you actually have time to think about what happens after you land.
If that’s when you realize you still don’t have a real Lightning Lane strategy, you are not alone.
Jersey Week can be a terrific time for New Jersey families to travel, but you still have a limited number of Disney park days and a lot you want to experience while you’re there.
You don’t need to spend the flight trying to give yourself a crash course in everything Lightning Lane.
Ask whether I have availability for your park dates, and we’ll start there.

You Came to Disney to Be There
I love Disney planning. I can talk strategy, resorts, attractions, dining and park flow all day.
But the point of all that planning is not the plan.
It’s the vacation.
You came to watch your child see the castle, ride the attraction everyone has been talking about, take the pictures, have the Mickey-shaped snack and spend time with the people you brought all this way to be with.
If Lightning Lane is going to turn you into the person who spends the entire vacation saying, “Hang on, let me check the app,” let me help with that part.
Your job is to enjoy what’s happening now. I can help think about what comes next.
