Step Two:

Add on island days pre or post cruise.

Each island in the Hawaiian chain has a unique personality and offers visitors different types of experiences. If you aren’t sure which island is right for you, explore the islands by the type of experience you’d like to have — whether it’s heart-pounding adventures, total relaxation or something in-between.

OAHU – Oahu offers a taste of everything Hawaii has to offer, including a spectrum of places to stay. You’ll find five-star resorts with lots of onsite amenities as well as smaller hotels, condos and rentals with a more local feel. Depending on your budget and the adventures you want to have on Oahu, it’s easy to find just the right accommodations to fit your trip.

The majority of Oahu’s accommodations are in Waikiki. This vibrant Honolulu neighborhood is located in the heart of great shopping and beautiful beaches. It also offers visitors the most lodging choices, including wallet-friendly options like Waikiki Beachside Hostel and well-established beachfront resorts with deluxe ocean views like The Royal Hawaiian, Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki and Outrigger Reef Beach Resort Waikiki. Waikiki also has some newer boutique hotel options, including the Modern Honolulu, that offer luxury in a more intimate atmosphere.

Beyond Waikiki, you’ll find another luxury resort in east Honolulu (The Kahala Hotel & Resort), one on the North Shore (Turtle Bay Resort) and two on the Leeward Coast in the Ko Olina Resort area (Four Seasons Oahu and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa). A condo or bed and breakfast in Kailua can be a great choice for proximity to Kailua’s gorgeous beaches on the windward side. North Shore vacation rentals and condos, particularly in the area of the legendary surf town Haleiwa, can be a more peaceful alternative to Waikiki, if you want to experience a different side of the island.

ISLAND OF HAWAII – The island of Hawaii is a land of diversity and choices, and that includes the island’s accommodations. There’s a home-away-from-home that will satisfy every taste and price range, from world-class resorts to charming inns and spacious vacation rentals.

MAUI – Adventure and enchantment await you on the welcoming island of Maui. Here you’ll find a variety of places to stay. Gaze out at enchanting ocean views from your balcony at a luxurious resort in Kapalua or Kaanapali in the west, or relax in a spacious condo rental in sunny Kihei on the southern coast. Take the winding road to Hana in East Maui to discover your charming cabin hidden among palms and tropical flowers. Whether you seek a Five-Diamond hotel right next to the action or a peaceful seaside cottage all to yourself, you’ll find what you’re looking for in Maui.

KAUAI – From the moment you arrive on Kauai, the enchanting scenery and generous aloha spirit welcome you. Whether you seek posh resorts with five-star service or a quaint country B&B you’ll be close by to natural wonders and Kauai’s incredible landscapes. Luxury resorts are plentiful, with dining, golf and spa facilities to rival the finest in the world.

LANAI – Ever since its days as a Dole plantation drew to a close, Lanai has lured travelers seeking a bygone, off-the-beaten-path Hawaii. This no-stoplight island has just two hotels, but what Lanai lacks in quantity it more than makes up for in quality, not to mention the greatest luxury of all: seclusion.

MOLOKAI – Molokai doesn’t have a major resort, and that’s exactly what visitors love about it. Instead, you’ll find towering sea cliffs (the tallest in the world), sweeping Pacific Ocean vistas and a rustic, intimate Hawaiian experience that extends to the lodging options. Molokai has a variety of charming oceanfront hotels, vacation rentals, cottages and bed and breakfasts in the central town of Kaunakakai and the village of Maunaloa in the West End. No matter where you stay on Molokai, you’ll be close to pristine beaches and beautiful unspoiled views.

Step Three:

Plan excursions before, during and after your Hawaiian Cruise.

More about Hawaii

Hawaii has pristine beaches, lush tropical greenery, and average temperatures in the 70s, so Hawaiians soak up plenty of sun -– and health benefits –- by spending so much of their lives outside. You get vitamin D from the sun when you’re out, and it’s easier to be physically active there — you’re not dealing with two feet of snow for a good hunk of the year and exposure to sunshine, fresh air and salt water has been shown to help many health problems.
