Cruise Stateroom Readiness Pack

Cruise staterooms are known for being on the small side, space is definitely at a premium on most cruise ships.

My Cruise Stateroom Readiness Pack includes items to help convert our stateroom cabin into a functional, tidy, clean, and welcoming environment.

It’s our home away from home for the largest chunk of our vacation time and our family likes the comfy feeling of being organized and prepared for our activities on board.

These cruise cabin essentials will help you ready the stateroom for your week at sea!

Cruise Stateroom Readiness Pack

Disinfecting Wipes

These travel safe medical grade disinfecting wipes are made for airplanes, cruise ships and more!

Of course your stateroom cabin should be clean. But is it clean enough? Especially for your family…

Use disinfecting wipes to wipe down your stateroom & cabinet door handles, countertops, the tv remote, bedside table, and bathroom.

Magnetic Clips and Hooks

Your cabin State room walls and doors will be metal, take it advantage of that space to keep your room tidy by using magnetic clips and hooks.

Magnetic clips can hold your important paperwork your state room door key, the light switch activator card, notes to your room steward, etc.

Magnetic hooks are terrific for hanging wet swimsuits, sweaters, jackets, bathrobes, even your hair dryer or make up bag in your stateroom cabin.

USB Chargers and Cords

Having your USB chargers and cords handy in your carry-on bag or your cruise readiness packet at the top of your suitcase is a smart way to take care of your smart devices.

You’ll be ready to recharge your smartphone, iPad, or other electronic device as soon as you get to your room.

Mini Flashlight

Of course, you could use your flashlight on your smartphone, but it may be charging across the room during the night, so having a mini flashlight available bedside is the perfect way to safely find a path around the room in the dark.

Use your mini light to check under the bed and in all the cabinets, corners, and crevices as you are unpacking and repacking.

Pens, Highlighters, Post it Notes Pad

There’s lots of stuff to do on a cruise and cruise ships are still providing you paper versions of their daily itinerary…along with their electronic app.

Each night as you are winding down, or perhaps getting ready for dinner, use the highlighters and pens to identify which activities and events each family member wants to participate the next day.

Your day will be more organized and you’ll be less likely to forget that really fun origami class you wanted to take.

Use post it notes to leave messages to each other or your room steward in the cabin. Or use a magnetic marker board to leave messages on your stateroom door.

Door Decor and Magnetic Marker Board

If you are crafty, consider making a personalized cruise magnet for your stateroom door. They are super fun to commemorate your sailing and other guests enjoy seeing them in the hallways too.

Eventually you’ll remember your stateroom cabin door room number, but it’s more fun to look for your personalized cruise magnets.

Place them on the door for an easy way to spot your stateroom as you’re walking down the hall.

A magnetic marker board, it’s also a great way to communicate with other members of your traveling party. You can let them know what time to meet for lunch for dinner or which activity to meet you at next.

Travel Laundry Detergent

Depending on your cruise ship, there will either be a laundry room with a washer / dryer or send out laundry services.

For quick washouts though, to get the pool chlorine out of your swimsuit or the chocolate mousse off your blouse, consider using a mild travel wash.

These premeasured, TSA size compliant mini packets are perfect for your cruise. Don’t forget a few clothes pins for hang drying.

Before-you-go spray

Even the spaciest of cruise staterooms are in close proximity to your bathroom. Spritz the bowl before-you-go and no one else will ever know!

Poo-Pourri describes their product the best: “non-toxic before-you-go toilet spray that stops bathroom odors before they ever begin – seriously! No more trying to mask odor already in the air!”

Counter top Utility Tote

I pack my collapsible utility tote for every trip! This collapsible bag is one of the first things I unpack in my stateroom cabin to gather loose items together and keep my state room tidy.

I also really like this small travel bag to place on my bedside table, to hold my jewelry, mini flashlight, key card, jewelry, etc – ensuring that nothing falls to the floor and gets lost.

Pop up Hamper or Hanging Laundry Bag

Bring a pop up hamper or two or a hanging laundry bag to catch all your dirty clothes throughout the week.

Either of these options are easy to transport in your luggage and are slim enough to have in your stateroom closet or tucked into a corner out of the way.
